POSSIBLE? XY250GY Group Buy!

I have contacted the XingYue Group in China about buying a sample bike from them. My contact at the company has replied back and quoted me a price. The price will be $1620 plus shipping but this is for just one unit. If anyone is interested in purchasing one of these contact me via a PM. The more I buy the better the price will be. Many people in my area would like to have a small high quality inexpensive commuter type motorcycle. I may be able to sell these locally. We see more and more scooters and small bikes in our area everyday. I'd like to find a centrally located port to everyone who is involved on this first buy. We could meet there and collect our bikes. I think I'm in for 2 units and I have one other person here interested in one. I'm going to contact the XingYue Group and get a quote for 5 units to start with. We'll see how it goes from there.

Disclaimer: I am just checking into this. This may or may not float! My contact tells me that I can get a much better price, if I buy more than just one unit. I'm not sure yet what all will be involved in importing these or how warranty claims would be handled or if they would be handled. I still have lots of questions! This isn't something that is going to happen tomorrow. We'll have time to raise the funds we need and all that! That will give us time to research everything and maybe some others will jump on board with it.

Here is a picture of the bike. I'm not sure yet what colors are available. I'll post that when I get more information.

Wow a Xingyue. I don't feel so alone. Daymak might be able to get you parts. They don't sell that bike but the do sell a whole line of xingyue's. Check Daymak.com, Sam. Your sprocket works great but my bike is generating too much voltage. I'm blowing bulbs :(

If you need a port, I live in Charleston SC. I dont know anything about receiving an import, but I can check. My sister works with an import/export company.

Is NY closer to you?

Well, I'm within 20 miles of seattle, if we got a group buy going we could have them shipped here. I have a truck and could go pick them up, and ship them out to you guys from one of the frieght terminals around here.

One of the members here got a 250 a few months ago, although I forgot his name, and he hasn't updated us on the bike. (He purchased one as a sample)

Here is the link to Asiawing:

Here are some of their bikes in action. It seems that with the larger displacement, wheelies are a little easier to accomplish:

I was finally contacted back about becoming an American Lifan dealer. I may have to become a Xingyue dealer too. Just need to find a commercial location that I can sell from. Also I need a pile of money to get started so I will be accepting donations.

Apply for a small business loan.

Have you talked to any other dealers about what all goes into running a business like that?

That and they're running the small 17" SM wheels and tires.

I have been gathering info and learning what I need to do. In GA I am require to have a shop w/mechanic and a motor vehicle dealer license. I need a commercial location and sign. I currently have none of that.

Owning my own business has been a dream for me and this may be my chance.

That sounds about the same as here in michigan.

I may start selling motoredbike kits (engine kits to be put on bicycles).
I wouldnt sell the ready to run ones unless it's a used one of mine but the engine kits might be fun to sell.

Right now there are several different kits out there but none have exactly what I feel is needed in a kit.

Ultimately I'd like to work my way up to having a bicycle, jeep brand, their AWD model but engine powered.
