Front wheel bushing/spacer

I'll spare you the long story, but somehow when I was fixing a flat, the bushing (spacer or whatever else it's called) for my Roketa db07 became lost. I now have no idea how to replace it as I don't have the exact size of the thing. If anyone happens to know the size or wants to measure theirs for me, I would repay you with much karma. Thanks a lot

Zac

Zac,
Can you take a picture for us?

You can probably make one or use a stack of washers.

Can Bruce help you with that? It would really suck to have to buy the whole hub just to get that spacer. I know what you're talking about, but I don't see how to help I don't even know if I have the same exact tire. I got a Xingyue Easy 150cc chinabike. My local store only sells these bikes. Sorry bro.

I think the washer idea is the way to go.

He can't use washers; that spacer goes through the hub seal and up against the wheel bearing. I got a fix for you Zac. I measured up my Roketa. You need a spacer 20 mm OD, 12 mm ID and there is 14 mm showing from the outside edge of the seal. Go out to your toolbox and find a 3/8ths drive socket that measures about 20 mm OD. Drill it out to 12 mm and stick it into the hub. Cut to fit 14 mm showing and badda bing! Best of luck bro. Sockets make great spacers as the chrome finish mates up well with the sealing surface.

The wisdom of experience. Red Rocks! That 's a re-adaptive engineering fix I'll keep in mind.

You guys are the best. That picture is the exact piece I'm needing. I left it in the wheel during a tube change that ended up being extended by a day because everything was closed on the fourth, so I left the wheel in my mom's car. She threw it out the next morning before I got up because she was leaving for the weekend and no one has seen it since.

I don't know of washers would work, I'd be a little scared to do that since this is part of the wheel. I'm always having these nervous "flashback" type things when I'm going 70mph about the nut coming loose on my axle, catapulting me to my death .

But thanks so much for those measurements, The one I needed most was the length. I'm going to see if any hardware stores carry anything shaped like that, and if not I'll get a socket and bore it out.

Zac

The socket seems like the best idea. I was just thinking of taking up space, but nut the seal there. A combination washer and socket if you need a bit more length may work too. I have a box of old sockets I will see if one looks like it will fit.

I still haven't got my bike up and running! I don't have a drill press, so the socket fix isn't going to be easy. I may be able to find someone who'd let me use their's but I don't know.

The local Ace only sells standard size spacers, no metric. If I can get something with the right ID and OD, I can cut it to the right length. My dad has a steel saw. About how much leeway can I get away with here do you think? Would a spacer with 1/2" ID and 3/4" (or 13/16" if I can find it) OD work? I looked everywhere for a hardware store that sells spacers with the right dimensions to no avail.

I need this thing running again! It's getting complicated to get to work.

Thanks.
