Hello my name is mike and I have been hiding a lifan problem

(Lifan support group)

I have had a slight problem with my lifan lately that has put it out of service until today.(I feel ashamed- :oops

It all started a couple of weeks ago while out riding, we were putting around the sub and my bike stalled I checked the plug, it was very hot (the plug) and dry but had a weak spark.I bled a little fuel out of the carb bleeder screw-Hmm fuel there-good-but will not start.
I just pushed it home it was just a block from my house and lightly raining.

A few days later with a new plug and a full fuel tank we gave it another try and it did about the same thing, run for a while then sputter and stall and not start.
After sitting a while it would start so I'm thinking maybe something is heating up and shutting it down (electrical) but I still go ahead and take the carb off and look for gunk in there and there is a very little amount of goo and a few small particles so I clean it all up.

We go for another ride and still the same thing, it runs great for a little while (few hundred feet to a few miles-always different distance) and sputters a bit then stalls and wont start for a few minutes (20 minutes or so)

So I decide go at it today.
With all the extra electrical components I have around here I start swapping out parts
(coil,CDI) to see if it could be an electrical part.NOPE.

So I do a backstep and start looking for the simple thing I overlooked long ago and found an odd problem.
All along I have stupidily overlooked the most important clue from the spark plug.

Anyone care to guess?
(clue-I had almost found the problem right from the start BUT....)

Nope not the plug wire and I even tried my spare coil-W/wire on it to no effect.

Not an intake leak, but it was running lean

So after today I had ruled out any electrical problem so that leaves FUEL.

nope fuel line is new I ditched the cheap black stuff when I did the engine swap.

Heres a big hint: the carb bleeder screw clued me into the problem. But the problem has nothing to do with the CARB itself.

So heres what we know.

The tank is full.
The carb is clean and working perfect.
The electrical is fine and the plug is NEW.
There is good compression-I did not take a reading but it is good (new engine -apparently no damage done to it compression wise-and it has run well before this problem started)

The clue to whats going on is the carb bleeder screw.
