Son of a!!!!

well this should have been a ride report but instead it turned into a failure report :x

went to the grace lake staging area and wanted to do a warm up run up to weaver lake, have lunch then ride back and head out on the 50 mile round trip ride we had planned for the remainder of the day.

got around 3/4 of a mile into warm up ride and hear a screech from front left wheel then nothing but it doesn't seem right so pull over and do some investigation and low and behold the wheel bearing is sloppy...pull off nut and washer to have the outside seal come out with the washer and there are 1 1/2 ball bearings sitting inside 8O

carefully put it all back together and a 1st gear ride back to truck and head home.

1.27 miles total riding today

pics to come sigh

a little worn me thinks

got one good bearing (need 4), one good small seal (need 4) and one good large seal that goes in before the hub does (need 2) for size when I take them into precision seal and bearing during my lunch hr on monday ...will be ready to roll again for next weekend

Yes, that's a worn bearing.

I'm sorry to hear you outing was spoiled. :( It was a beautiful day to ride.

Did they have what you need for your quad? If not, Precise Bearing in Abby is a really good source.

Rats.

Sure looked like an amazingly nice day to ride, too. At least it failed semi-close to the truck and will not cost a lot of money to fix.
