Anyone try a gel pad?

My Roketa seat gets uncomfortable pretty fast. Has anyone tried one of the gel pads? They are kinda expensive!
BTW, rolled past 1500 miles last evening.

A couple guys on the ADVrider.com and Yahoo DR650 forums have bought ATV gel seat covers from Walmart.
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=221203&page=3
"the product is Comfort Ride ATV Seat Cover, made by Stearns"

I haven't used one but the seat on my DR and the seat on the Lifan I had were very similar. It might be worth a try.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! The 17 mile trip to work is about my limit!

By the way, my Roketa DB-05 odometer is in kilometers, is your in miles? My speedo is MPH, but Odomter is definately KM's.

dlunt: I have seen some posts about that seat cover, even a picture, but haven't come across one in walmart. I'm surprised that no one else has chimed in on this, this seat of mine is a butt breaker! I rode a total of about 120 miles a few weekends ago, about 35 miles in the morning for errands, & another 80+ in the afternoon for just a ride, & my butt was so sore I was walking with a limp. I'm about to steal a cushion off the couch & suffer the wrath of the wife so I can walk normally again!
buymore: Yep, my odometer is in miles. I was pretty surprised, as I ordered my bike in the spring of '07 & received an '05 according to the frame plate & MSO.

I picked one up from Walmart this morning and set it on the GY2 we have at the shop. Shorter than the stock seat but if it works for longer trips...

I'll decide if I want to keep it or not when I go to install it and if it doesn't look too tacky.

I will have to sneek off for a ride to Wal-mart. I am thinking about covering it with some vinyl and building it into the seat if I like how it feels.

I will try the more redneck wal-mart first. More likely to have one. You are require to wear at least some form of camo to enter.

I ordered one from Pro Pad. The small was 49.95. I'll let you know how it works out.

Anyone want mine for $24 shipped (covers my paypal fees)? I don't think I'll want it for my mostly short trips

I bought one today. I got pics of it on the bike, but no ride time. I also created a less than $20 lockable trunk sourced from Walmart and TSC.

Picture is not the best.

Wow, that thing covers the entire seat.
And I have to ask.......what is that engine from on the floor, & is that fan supposed to be there?

The pad covers about 90% of the seat. I haven't ridden much with it yet. Took about 5 minutes to put it on.

Engine from a Honda CX500. It is a liquid cooled and that is the radiator fan. I part out old bikes on ebay for play money. It paid for a Lifan.
