Rear swingarm on TaoTao 250D

Okay, so I hate my swingarm. It has the stupid chain tensioners, (now removed), thin tabs that hold the bearing carrier, and the shock is mounted on the bearing carrier.

The worst part by far, in my opinion, is the way the suspension is mounted
so far back that it only allows for about two inches of travel.

Weldangrind, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe my swingarm is identical to the one on your beast.

So I have a few options:

Leave it..

Weld new shock mounts for a new shock..

Buy a different swingarm (preferably one with an eccentric chain tentioner)

What do you think? I will be posting pictures of the process, on whichever one I choose.

there are some posts here of guys that have custom designed and welded up all new rear swing arms for their chinese quads. You might want to search them out.

I'll need to see a pic to confirm, but it sure sounds like mine. I plated mine for strength, bought thicker chain pullers and upgraded the bolts. It has served me well since, and I punish it.
