Congrats! Should make getting to the trails on the YZ a whole lot easier! I always thought you had to have the kit on and get it inspected before you got the plate though, in Washington you can get the plate and then dual sport it?

I wanted the plate in my hand before starting in case there was a glitch with the DOL system. I got the kit 3/4 installed tonight, will finish tomorrow. :P

To know me that well, gentlemen, you must REALLY be my friends.
Well, because of my OCD, I'm glad to report the project is done. I still have some work to do with the headlight. I want to swap the bulb for an LED BA20D which I think is what I need. The 1,000mA battery pack won't power the incadescent bulb there now for more than a little while I'm sure. It took maybe 3 1/2 hours. None of it is very hard but there are a lot of fiddly little steps. The quality of the kit is good and the instructions are good also. I added maybe 2-3 pounds and gained a huge amount of versatility. Fair trade. Also it's a total loss system so I have to plug it into a charger when needed but again no big deal. It just occured to me I'll have to add this to my insurance policy... Here's the new inner fender and bralkelight and blinker cable routing. The plate is held on with 3 heavy duty ricits and backing plates. Heavy duty bolts hold the inner fender to the blue one. Careful routing of the brake light switch wires away from the exhaust. The brake switch. I had to bleed the brakes. The fluid was dark and they needed it anyway. The battery zip-tied to the rim of the airbox. Switchgear. Harness. I am VERY pelased with the Polysport headlight and the way the front blinkers mounted to it. I'm going for a ride!

You bet Brother Spud!
It's a good kit . I had to add the Polysport headlight because the kit is designed for a bike that already has a headlight. I will power my LED headlight, when I get one, with another NiCad rechargeable battery pack from the hobby store.

Nice work. That's the same tail light I bought for the TW.
Extra points for using Gorilla tape.

Looking good, Toss a Vapor or an endurance 2 and you will be all set.
I miss the Vapor that was on the XL175/200 when I am on the WRR it has really nice features, (Rpm the major one now.) coolent temp etc. the WRR speedo is way off to begin with (I added a 12 Oclock labs correction chip and I am very happy now. ) I was just used to the Vapor. I still may add one if I do turkey runs with the wrr. we will see. |

Other than the price ( 8O ) of the WR one of the reasons I went with the KLX was the more complete instrument panel. I've debated a Vapor for the YZ but I already have too much money into this thing as it is. It would be nice to at least have a speedo, though. I also like the temp gauge idea...
