2004 diamo avalanche 250cc atv help!!!
I just bought this atv. Its a 250cc shaft driven with a "slip clutch" no lever on handlebars. Problem is... it goes into gear but doesn't move. What could it be and where can I get parts?[/list]

I don't know what you mean by a 'slip clutch'.

more than likely it has some sort of WET CLUTCH system internal in the motor and the wet clutch is too worn.

Did it work when you bought it or did you buy it the way it is?

Does it make any weird noises when you put it in gear? If it's making a grinding or whirring sound the shaft drive may be damaged. Otherwise I'm guessing that it's the clutch or clutch adjustment. Most of the auto's have a provision for adjusting the clutch. I'm guessing you must have gotten a pretty smoking deal on it if it didn't move when you bought it!

It makes no noise. U can feel it click into gear through the shifter but it gets no power to the shaft. U knw how its got the small cable going from by recoil to the transmission... that lever its hooked to it held forward by a piece of wire to keep it from pivotingto the rear of machine. The rest of the quad is mint... n yes got a smoking deal, can't wait to get it moving. The kid I got it from thought it was rear end issue but it rolls just fine just seems like its constantly in neutral.

Please show us a pic of the lever that is held by a piece of wire.

Ok so it turns out the lever held by wire is reverse but the actual lever is missing but when I move that the rev light on dash works as normal and feels like its going into gear but the neutral light is on and it just revs....

Ok so I tore into the quad today. Found it it definitly something in rear end. I pulled rear end out today. Was wondering what to expect when I split it tomorrow. I can hear something slipping inside. Can hold center shaft still and sping tires....
