My daily commute: Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
This is my daily commute to work, filmed with GoPro mounted to my helmet.

A very interesting high quality video thank you for sharing it.
It appears a 200cc D/S is the ONLY good way to get around on those 'streets'. Is the music contemporary Hatian? I would imagine there are not a lot of (enforced) traffic laws there...

Thanks for posting the interesting video, Kohl. What kind of camera are you using? The video quality is excellent.

Wow! I realize that video was sped up in some parts, but the lane splitting gave me fits! All I could think was that another rider from the opposite direction was going to do the same thing.
I spotted a few pickups that had seating welded over the tailgate. I'm guessing that's common. The music sounded like French with an odd accent.

Lane splitting was a daily event for me back in San Francisco. 1996 XR250L at the time was my commuter. Efficent but nervewracking. I was glad to move to the country before I got creamed. I logged 20,000+ miles on that bike, and about 3/4 was commuting, and about 1/4 of that was lane splitting.

We can't get away with that behaviour here, and nor would I care to.

It's LEGAL in California!
They had to make it legal because the CHP motor officers depend on the technique themselves. Sure does piss off the stopped cagers though. I don't want to divert this amazing thread about riding in Haiti though  We can always start a lane-splitting thread. It's an interesting topic.

I'm amazed at the quality of that video. I'm hoping that the prices of such cameras come down a bit.

They seem to range from $199 to $299, depending upon accessories, etc. www.gopro.com

That seems like a fair price to me.
I know many airplane people use them too.
