Zongsen 200GY-2: New Color Scheme

While riding in the mud Saturday, my Zong took a dirt nap, and I broke the left side cover. I replaced the side cover on Sunday, and decided it was time to change the color scheme of my Zong. Here's a photograph of my current Zong, taken on Saturday's ride.

I have always like the Red and Black Zongs, so I have decided to paint my plastic Honda Red, as simulated in the following, retouched photograph.

I think Krylon Fusion, Red Pepper is a pretty good color match for Honda Red. Therefore, I just need to get some red handguards, and a new, red fender. Unfortunatley, I waited too long to get a great deal on a Polisport Universal Supermoto Fender in red; only the orange fenders are left. Therefore, I think I might get a Polisport MX Fender for the Honda CRF250R.

What do you guys think? Is that a good fender? Is Red Pepper a good match for Honda Red?

Here's a photograph of the CRF250R, displaying the front fender I am considering.

I know computer screens can be deceiving when it comes to colors, but I feel the Honda is a bit more orange-red. Or maybe that's what it fades to after many coats of mud. I don't have any real good shots of the front fender, but here is my bike:

I think it would look good on your Zong. Have you considered painting the fuel tank also?

Too bad you missed the $5 Polysport closeout. They make a good product and the price was amazing. I reclothed the whole YZ for $40! Including shipping!

I like the red and krylon fusion is brilliant paint - I would go for it - a change is as good as a rest! I think I might also paint the larger 'front' side panel....

Its just paint. You can always change it again. Go red for awhile.

Thank you, DM. I like the black fuel tank. Besides, I don't know anyone who has had success painting a plastic fuel tank. The paint always chips off because the plastic leaks gasoline fumes.

I think the Red paint will be easier to maintain than the orange paint, which is hard to match, and requires several different coats of paint.

KTM orange is harder to match than Honda Red, Allen. Among other things, I and trying to reduce the extra work involved with matching the KTM orange. I have always thought I would like the Honda Red, color scheme, and I can always switch back to the KTM orange later, if I wish.

The Polisport Universal Supermoto Front Fender was available for a brief time in both orange and red. The red must have sold out; the orange is still available. However, I think the CRF fender might better suit the larger, 21-inch, front wheel currently on my Zong. The red, CRF fender is also a Polisport fender, and it's on sale for $4.99. However, this Polisport MX Fender is also available in blue.
