Rear wheel mount help!
Most of this tear down (to learn about and correct if necessary) Is done and putting things together. Picture is my raised fender to allow room for the new knobbies to clear away mud.
Problem began this after noon when attempted to remount my rear wheel. Musta tried 8 or 10 variations to get the axle through, disk brake and both left and right spacers to all fit in. I've done the larger spacer on the right and I HOPE tomorrow the bike gods will allow this bike to be..almost ready to ride..Any pointers or how to do this-solo? Computers not aceptingnew pix.. will send via phone in aminute |

Progress!
By hook or crook.. No; I did not use the 28mm spacer for the right side.
She not sitting on her own two wheels Sorry, Replace the non ethanal friendly hose zip tied it to the air inlet.. away from engine heat. Over on the left side I found the air breather to the crank pinched and jammed under part of the top engine mount.. Rerouted. Needed to crack loose the banjo fiting near the rear reseviour and reroute that hose could lead kink free and thru the cut out provided on the lower rear fender. Also wrapped that with a couple layers of insulation rubber wherer that meets the fender. Tomorrow might get to start her up.. to change out the oil. |

Exhaust protection: This subject has worried me a good bit once I selected a Grom style bike. These can be found on both ebay and amazon from about $15.00 and up..
Easy install about 45 min including pre bending the parts. I found my foot long adjustable C clamp worked well to start the bends, and to further crimp them in.. Used 3 1 1/2" hose clamps. |

Finished? nah
Found when I was trying to start the bike...That it had obviously been in stock for some time., I could barely detect the scent of gas in the tank. And, when swapping out the fuel lines.. There was no spillage.
Adding some fuel it took a good bit of sputtering starts and the normal checkiing for spark, fuel... Pulling the plug it was a bit wet. As the Vader air filter doesn't have the back blow metal screen to further restrict the air supply. I thought that there may still be a bit of air restriction so; Drill 4 3/16" holes in the upper front portion of the air box/filter cover. Increased spark plug gap slightly. Finally having burned away what must of remained in the carb from the initial factory or Venom start up.. She finally settle down to a reliable idle. Rode her up and down the street a few times to "warm up" the oil and wrestled with a very highly torqued down drain bolt. Oil look a good color but: Changed her out for some good DelRon 15w40. Trying to mount the right side hand guard that I again ran into some over zelous tightening of the brake banjo fitting.. Had the same problem with the rear brake banjo and cable run. I am guessing when they instruct new assemblers,. that no mention is made in positioning the brake cables away from any potential rubbing spot. Perhaps this is response from complaints of loose bolts... There is a happy medium which hasn't be learned yet but, that's part of the charm of owning these bikes.. Learning all the ins and outs. Whats next..carb? Swing arm replacement, rear shock.. uhhh.. Once my bank accounts have cooled down some |

Shake down
Not fully trusting this bike yet. I have taken her down and not confident that everything is back as it should be. The rear rotor had gotten a little hot which might have to wait for the swing arm mod to correct the alignment. Not really happy with the carb..idle set up.. I will mess with it some but. Already have the Mikuni upgrade awaiting its chance.
Made it partway down towards the beach-dunes but I didn't feel like walking back out if; the carb acted up.. Will wait for a few more miles to convince me that she's reliable. Nice ride anyways |

Foot pegs
I know that its extremely frustrating to find parts for our China bikes. Going to a manufacture or parts source and find that no mention of a part fitting your bike.
What to do? Answer just about anything you want to do. These are not multi kkk$$$'s pieces of engineering wonder. My Grom clone.. Vader 125/10 is in the midst of being broke in and suitably altered to handle off road riding around here. Purchased from a Chinese e bay site for under $36.00. These cast stainless foot pegs give you a big stable platform over the stock "street" pegs. Took about 45 minuets to grind down with my 5" grinder the inside heel of the pegs so they would lie flat. Note hi tech work bench. |
