New exhaust - Page 2

Kinda same issue I had. I read on here I think or could have been on google if the a/f screw needs 3 turns or more out to go up 1 size jet and if its 1 turn or less to go down 1 size. I think most of my issues I had were self inflicted, I just had to have a bigger carb and just had to have a better exhaust. After I got it going good I stayed close to home for a while, just in case but now I ride it all over. I do carry a few tools with me though as you never know.

I put the carb on today, but what did you do with the tube coming off the crankshaft?

The larger hose comming out of the crankcase I put a small air filter on it, that's the crankcase breather. You don't need to drill a hole in the intake tube as I did, it just gets plugged. I think that's all the vac lines I have. I took the EGR off and covered the port with the bracket that mounts the EGR tube onto the head. I took all the emissions stuff off. You can just leave the crankcase hose with nothing on it as well.

Did you use the stock carburetor throttle cap on the new carb or did you use the one it came with. I don't think mine is seated completely and I'm using the stock cap on the new carb.

Im using the one that came with the new carb but replaced the 90* bend cable guide with the straight one. I can almost guarantee u have a vac leak or the choke is on.
