Doc, I think you need to get onboard with a CT70 project.

I'm looking for a cheap one with a dead engine. I think if i can get a street legal one and install a 125 it would make PERFECT ground transportation when I fly. i have folding bicycles but the Honda Lifan would increase my range, and be a hoot at the same time. I could even ride it on trails by the airports where I travel. What does one of those bikes weigh? 150 lbs or so?

They are right at 150lbs. Not sure what WA state laws are, but GA didn't issue titles before 1986. I can register it with a bill of sale since if was originally street legal.

I'd have to look back at the Maule forums at the pics of the guy who carried one in his plane. IIRC it fit but without a lot of room to spare. Maybe someone can measure L/W/H on one with the bars folded and let me know the dimentions sometime? How fast would a 125 with a manual transmission go? 45?

I am hoping to go 50-55 with a 125. They have passenger pegs, but it would be tight 2up.
Probably need to gear it lower if you are going to be riding that way. I am sure it wouldn't like hills.

Most places I go I'd be looking at surface streets for less than 5 miles. Airports are usually just outside of town. Usually I'd be by myself, but I don't mind if Miss Megan has to sit real close.

![]() Could you actually get the bike and Miss Megan in the Maule? If not, how would you ever choose? 50mph on a CT70 would be a riot. I had a 100cc Indian dirt bike when I was a kid that was about the same seat height, and it easily went that fast.
