I've always liked those since I was a kid, I just thought they were cool and would be a good riding challenge.I'm to old and fat now to ride a trials course.

Your never too old until you say your old .

The trials bikes are quite interesting though, a pebble would be the only rock I'd be going over though

Later,
Will

some pics of the battery box.

My tiny little garage is a mess right now.I cant hardly wait til I get the last brackets welded and the bike down on the ground and shop cleaned up.

I still havnt decided how I want to do the side covers but I will most likely just buy some 1/8" nylon sheeting and cut custom side covers and RIT dye them dark blue.

Here's a few pics.(these first two of it still on the stand)

It's a bit thinner now.

I hate where I put the brake reservoir but I can relocate later if needed except now the spot I wanted it is filled oh well.

I ordered a 2000 xr200r exhaust pipe heat shield for it today since I absolutely HATED the stock one that came on the bike.(reminds me of Trumps comb-over. I took it off a long time ago)
I wont have the shield until next week sometime but I'm sure I'll have to massage it in there and reweld the mounting bolts.(no biggie)I did get an exhaust gasket that goes between the exhaust pipe and the cylinder for just over $2 it is from the same 2000 xr200r parts run (lol) and really helped seal up the exhaust.

I had a problem with the clutch cable it was short or maybe the casing was to long ....whatever it didnt work.
So my options were.
(1) to make a custom cable bracket on the engine.
(2) to have a cable made to order-but where.
(3) or take the easy way out and very carefully cut back the casing an 1-1/4" and be done with it(option 3 worked fine)

Yes there are still a lot of loose ends but it does fire up right now so I'm happy.

I still have to make or buy some side covers and put the little sock on the airfilter.I need a new batt and I need to put the rock guard on and the footpeg.basically give the thing a good looking over for cable/wire routing and fasteners.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I did a little more today, nothing big, just raised the needle as high as it would go and it is running very good.
I'm anxious to take it out for a spin.

I replaced the cheesy fuel line with a green translucent line.
checked a bunch of bolts.

I think it's about time for this to be mounted on it, what do you guys think.(different headlight)

I also have a different front fender that will going on it this weekend.(I absolutely HATE painted plastic.

It is a bit different than the stock light in that it has no easy way to aim the light up and down so it looks like a few custom pieces will be needed.
The whole headlight fixture has to pivot- no adjustment on the lens.
It also means I have to cut the stock bulb socket off and soldier the wires right to this headlights bulb socket (no big deal there)

I still need to put the rock guard on and I doubt I'll fab up any extra frame support right now.

I need to decide on side panels, it's a toss up between buying something I think will fit or just making them out of 1/8" thick nylon sheet stock and dyeing them blue.

Ok more pics of my (*C#OUGH* lame) project.

old and new headlight backside.

front of old and new headlight.

new headlight with all mounting brackets and wired up.

Installed (left side) not pretty but it does hold it for now.

Installed (right side)

The rest are just pics of the bike outside purring like a kitten.

The new front fender is installed but I messed up and need to install the rubber grommets.(no biggie)

anyone see something that is not stock in this pic? (other than the obvious K&N airfilter)

Nope it's so I can pull my 34 foot fifth wheel trailer behind it

I dont have a 34 foot trailer (wouldnt even fit in my tiny yard)

The plug is set up to allow for charging of one or both bikes at the same time. When I get the side cover made I will have an access hole for easy charging.
I have a custom jumper cable that I use with the battery minder which can charge 4 motorcycle batteries at once.

sorry, I couldnt resist.

Thanks, it is coming around.

I still want/need.

Side covers (looks like I'll be making them)
Handlebars (aluminum-blue)
real bark busters (need the real handlebars first-stock bars wont allow real barkbusters)
Blinkers (the more I look at the stock blinkers the more I hate them-mainly the front ones where they are mounted)

TeamCheap,
If you look at all the pictures of my bike in my thread, you'll be able to see the Renthal bar I fit to my bike. They are much higher than the stock bars. They put me upright in a very comfortable position. These blue aluminum Renthal hnadlebars would work on your bike, since you still have the front ABS valve. If you're keeping that valve they may be a good choice. Kinda pricey, but really nice bars. The Acerbis Mini Rally handguards fit nice with them too.

Just a thought!
