I don't keep it outside... I guess we're in a decent area, but I would be leary about it walking away.
Also, went and looked at a so called "new" lifan at a local dealer. It was yellow, and severly marked up all over the side panels (can you say dropped many times?, though they weren't broken, just scuffed) and the odometer read over 500k, and all the turn signal lenses were very very faded from the sun. The bike was on sale, but it was on a big enough sale for the abuse it looked like it had seen. Anyways my point was outdoor storage could fade your signal lenses. |

Yep, my signal lenses look pretty faded to me. My GY-5 has been outside uncovered now for just about a year. Including this past PA winter. But amazingly, the other plastic bits look nearly like new. I just tried to start it for the first time this year. Took a little starter fluid but it started and ran like new. Went for a 10 minute spin around the neighborhood. All lights and winkers functioning properly and for some reason the horn actually seems to work better. Now I just have to get insurance for it, burn the fuel stabalizer out of the tank and I should be ready for a second season of commuting to work on the Lifan. Last year I put about 2,000k on the odometer before it quit. This year I might even get a working battery and actually get it inspected.

My New Solar House
Last summer, most of my time was devoted to this. Hopefully, in a few months, my bikes will be residing here in the basement shop/family room. I can't wait. I can work on my toys at night when I'm staying up getting ready for nightshift.

I chose carport because it is closest to back porch.
My bike was in the garge until I bought the Hyosung. at least it is under cover and locked. If I put it in the shed I would ride it much less (out of site out of mind) I'm realy looking forward to getting some knobies on it and getting in the dirt. |

No garage, but I built a shed that I use for my shop and it has a porch that I parked the riding mower and the multiple bikes under. I guess it counts as the car-port. I also plan to ride mine year-round in everything like I did with all the other bikes. My signals are already faded from it sitting in front of the dealer's shop for about 6 months first. The rest of the bike looks fine except the gold colored areas are faded too.
Advantage to being in a warmer climate is I never have to winterize. Allen
