Just bought a brand new LF200 GY-2, unregistered & with 0 miles for the princely sum of £425!

Found the site by accident & its great - hope the bike is too!

Welcome!

Congrats on the good score. I believe this is the first bike over 150cc on this forum from the UK. I was beginning to think that nobody imported 200cc bikes.

There are quite a few GY200 clones in the UK - branded Lifan, Zongshen, Kinroad, BTS, Sukida.... I could go on and on!

Well impressed with my GY so far, its branded 'Xplorer' but in the VIN no begins LF indicating Lifan I think?

Its not a 2010 model - guess c2006 ish but brand new for that money was too good a deal to miss!

After I've run it in (1000kms) 612kms to date on the clock, will do another oil change and fit the larger jet to the carb & power filter I have already.

Anything else I would need to do - either general maintenance wise or to boost the power - don't do off roading so top end speed is more use to me - any advice greatfully received.

Oh, forgot to say its the 163FML engine - is this OHC or OHV? How do I tell?

Welcome. Looks just like mine. Mine was a 2006 model.

You need one more character on the VIN to know who manufactured it, there are more than one that begin with LF, the L signifies its made in china the next two define the WMI....

http://204.68.195.151/cars/rules/manufacture/

OHV

OHC

I am sure that the engine has some things to check at 1000km, but there is no service manual on that engine, that I have seen.

Looks like the OHV picture.

First 3 characters of the VIN are LF3 but nothin seems to come up via that link - any ideas?

did you enter into the field for WMI? "LF3" without the quotations.

It worked for me....its made by Lifan.

ftp://ftp.nhtsa.dot.gov/mfrmail/ORG6185.pdf

Your VIN would be LF3YCM60...

It's a nice bike and brand new for $617, you cannot beat that.
Whys soo low? whats the story on it, it has a disk in back and inverted forks its nice...

That's £425, not $425. That's $965 Canadian or $820 US. Still a good deal.

A long story but briefly....

It belonged to a shop who went bankrupt & was taken by the official receiver who duly auctioned off all the stock. A guy bought it but couldn't get it registered for road use in the UK as there was documentation missing. Subsequently, I took it off his hands & wrangled with HM Customs & DVLA (thats the licencing dept) for about month before finally succeeding in obtaining a registration.

Got there eventually.......

Welcome to here! There seem to be quite a fair number of Chinese bikes in the UK.

British Pounds 425 exchanges to $618 USD and $638 CAD?

1 GBP = 1.45507 USD
1 GBP = 1.50246 CAD
