speedo drive hub seal...and speedo cable

Hi...I've thought of this a few times when reading about speedo issues, but keep forgetting to post about it.....Have other Roketa owners, and maybe other brands as well, noticed the speedo drive hub seal as supplied with the bike, does not exactly amount to anything? Its ID measurement is 42mm,....[OD is 50 mm]....but the wheel hub surface its supposed to seal/ride against is 40 mm. That of course is not going to keep nothing out of the speedo drive internals.....water, dirt, dust, mud, etc.....
Anyway, I was able to locate a 40x50x8 seal locally and that nicely fixes that problem!

As far as the cable,...the stock cable at just under 40" is a bit short and stressed as supplied and routed......I was able to use a cable meant for a Kawasaki 350 Bighorn [42"] and improve that situation, too....
***note that this is not a direct fit replacement as one knurled nut has to be slightly enlarged and threaded to fit,.....but it was no big deal...works/fits great!

My 06 DB07a sealed up fine. Nice and tight. Maybe you got an oddball seal???

Hi FMY....I am away from home-base for a few days.........will try and get some pics later in the week...........

Because of the odd angle of the speedo cable coming from the drive[at least in my opinion], and the fact that the seal is not available seperately from Roketa, I did order a replacement speedo drive unit to see if mine was just all wrong....new one was the same way, so sourced a seal locally.
