Sold the Konker

I sold the Konker last week. Awesome bike in all respects and well worth the money for anyone considering buying one. Too bad I didn't put more miles on mine but it has just been sitting since I got the KLR. My brother in law was looking for a trail bike for around the acerage and liked the Konker, so I figured better to let it go somewhere where it will get some use . Thank goodness we still have the quads to get our china bikes fix!

KLR has been a hoot, best money I have ever spent/traded. Iv'e put about 1200 km's on it so far and use it for everything . Heck, I think I've only filled my car up once since I got the bike insured!

I'm planning on riding the Victoria Trail this weekend if I can get away for an afternoon, a guy at work has ridden it and he says its a very nice scenic ride.

I rode a few kilometers of it a few weeks ago and it's a cool twisty little gravel road, I'll have to remember to take my camera!

That's really cool! During all of the time I lived in Edmonton, I only knew the Victoria Trail as a road within Edmonton. I had no idea that it was named for a trail with this significance. On another note, I remember learning that Fort Edmonton does not sit on its original soil; it was where the Legislative Grounds are now. Apparently, it was lovingly dismantled and rebuilt, piece by piece on the South bank of the North Saskatchewan. It's one of my very favourite places.

What are you talking about, Doc? You owned a Zong. Once a Zongite, always a Zongite! In any event, resistance is futile. They will be assimilated into the Cult of the Zong.

One of the great things about china bikes are that they are a good stepping stone to a better bike. No sense spending a lot of money on something only to find out its not your cup of tea. I for sure think a KLR is a step up or 3

Hopefully you can ride with your brother in law some too.

The Konker is a fantastic bike and even does a lot of things better than the KLR (starts better for instance) but a lot of my riding turns out to be highway so the KLR is a better choice. Konker is getting a great home though, a heated triple car garage . I hated to part with it but I also hated to see it sitting there not being used, too good of a bike to sit idle. I give the Konker a ton of credit for exposing me to the dual sport world, love em!
