What's it take to get the bike legal?
My GY-5 is from American Lifan. Got my 30 day tag, have insurance, passed the DL test (Yahoo!), what's left? Obviously get a real tag soon but do the police have to inspect my bike before they'll tag it?
I've bought 2 used out of state bikes before and they had to inspect them to tag them. Wondering if they will need to with a new bike? When I'm done with all that I'm going to mod the exhaust and hopefully the fairing and front fender some more. |

Savage, it seems to be up to the individual state, and you don't say where you are from. Lifans are supposed to be 49 state street legal, whether American Lifan or gray-Lifan, but Mdsuave has hit a snag as far as gray-area Lifans go in Maryland.

I work at the dealer. lol
I think I'm good to go. Asked a guy today if he had to get his Honda inspected when he bought it new. I'm not use to buying new. ![]() Time to tap the muffler, chop the license, install new headlights and some other fun mods. :P |

Dealer seems to be the way to go, not a whole lot of registration issues in most states...
