Check with Foremost Insurance. They insured my Jetmoto over a year ago with full coverage for a little over $80 a year. I've also got my Suzuki with them. State Farm wanted double of what Foremost is charging me.

Hunter,
Insurance laws are so different around the country, Full insurance is a different story, it is a want, not a need for these bikes unless you are financing it, are you? Anyway, insurance for some may be just as much a pain in the a$$ as the MCO issues, these bikes are new to alot of States/Countys and it all depends on them... I know for a fact GEICO's web site has these in there database and so does PROGRESSIVE, they cost more though... Try Geico again, ask to talk to a manager and not a rep, and be nice...Just my 2 cents, Good luck...

Call Progressive 1-800-PROGRESSIVE and tell them it is an American Lifan and give them the web address of the model you have.
Example:
http://www.americanlifan.com/lifan2/lf200gy-5.html

If you need to, tell them that Dennis Lunt had insurance in Indiana with Progressive on a Lifan GY-5 until just recently. Look it up.

IMO - Insurance is a racket!

Let them know that it's an American Lifan, even if it's a grey market it will/should still say Lifan on the MCO/MSO...

I didn't have any problem getting insurance with American Family. They asked if I wanted full coverage or liabilty. I took the liability for $30 a year ('course you can only ride for half a year in this part of the country.)

$75.00 for Progressive online, bike is in Vermont. Couldn't get full coverage though. Not an option on the online form for me??? Full coverage doesn't make much sense on these bikes anyway. Go online, get liability and ride, baby ride!!!

Progressive for us, with our viva's. Just tell them it is an American Lifan which is similar to roketas, jetmotos etc. With us they had to research but came back two days later with the insurance on our vivas.

Montana doesn't require insurance!!! I'm going to get liability anyway. A person would be an idiot not to, IMHO. Progressive online has AMERICAN Lifan listed. Looks like $75-80 around here for liability.

$50 a year, liability through Geico. No problems, had it on my policy in less than 10 minutes.

No insurance required in Florida unless you don't want to wear a helmet, then you must carry at least $10,000 in liability... I always wear a lid and I still went and got it, at $53 bucks a year, it's well worth it just in case...
Geico just added it to my policy for my other 2 cars and just sends me 1 bill, I did have to talk to a Manager to get them to look it up though, the Rep had no idea what I was talking about...
