One More Q
The motor runs quite quietly but there seems to be a lot of "knocking/rattling" when my kids are driving (depending on terrain). I've checked nuts/bolts/screws, and all seemed to be fastened securely. There is slight play in the rear wheel spacer (short 0ne)...very slight, about a mm or 2. Is this okay? Thanks.

Maybe the chain is rattling against the swingarm. Are there any witness marks that would confirm?
When you say there is play, does that mean that the wheel wobbles?

Thanks for your reply, weldandgrind. The chain was extremely loose and was rubbing on the frame. I also thought it was the cause of the noise. I actually managed to adjust that by myself, and the noise is still there.
If I grab the rear spacer, especially the shorter one, I can shake it with my hand to make it "rattle" (up and down). I don't know if this is a concern. I read other posts where it was mentioned that you might need to place a few extra washers there. There's very little play back and forth...about a mm or so. |
