turn signal relay

ok have a 2006 Roketa DB-07 (RJM-200E) GY200cc went to ride it yesterday and noticed that when you are reving the motor that the turn signals work fast and sometimes not at all and sometimes really slow ....well went home and took the side panels off and the seat, too look for a ground coming loose and found my flasher relay slipped loose and was melted to the exhaust pipe. Flicked it a couple of times and clamped it back in place but has a pin hole and Im sure it wont last long So Roketa.com has them for 27 bucks shipping and all but they are calling it a Singing Sparking Relay http://www.roketa.com/product/parts_...artName=ENGINE ASSEMBLY(2)

part number DB-07-200-02-08 looks exactly like what I need but am wondering can I pick one up at a parts store or is there someone where cheaper and is that the part I need for reall .... thanks for the help fellas

Yes, you can get a flasher unit from the local auto parts store; however, it will not “sing” like the original.

Take your current flasher unit to the auto parts store, and the clerk will help you find a suitable replacement; it should cost about $12.

You're welcome, Lobo.

Unlike the flasher unit on your Roketa, the flasher unit you get at the auto parts store will click, not beep (sing).

I double dog dare ya to walk into NAPA and ask for a Singing Sparking Relay!

You aint a man... haven't a hair on yer chest.. yer a lily livered little girl if ya don't do it!

For some reason "singing sparking relay" puts me in mind of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where bugs found the singing sword....

Most places will have relays hanging in the aisle, just take your old one along and match the prongs up.

JC Whitney sells relays that play Elvis's "Love me Tender" when activated, might be an upgrade to think about.... :P

No fans of the beeping winkers? Sheesh what is this world coming to? Just don't let em talk you into the cheap thermo flasher..Go electronic...That way You can always add LED's later if You want.

Is that all it takes is an electronic flasher? I thought that it had to be LED specific. I'm anxiously awaiting Spud's report. I bet it'll be detail-oriented.

Yup done it a few times now The LED's do not draw enough juice to cause a thermal to heat up and Trip. So by tossing an Electronic in You are set.........Just did it on My DR. cost me 8 bucks. Some guy came in and tried to find an LED specific one for his quad because the dealer said that was all that would work He did no believe me andhe paid almost fifty bucks and they said they had to get it from europe He never even plugged it in to try it before he brought the one I gave him back....What a dingus.

Any electronic will work as long as the bike does not have an odd ball. grote is the brand I use
http://www.grote.com/prodcat/H.html
But triton brand or what ever will work as long as it will plug into the socket.
I'll post a pic of the one on my DR later on maybe Saturday.
This is the exact one I used
http://grote.com/product.php?product_number=44810
Works like a champ and it is way tougher than anything the dealers will try and sell ya.

That's how I caught it, I put LED bulbs replacements in my truck and they would not flash...I thought about it and grabbed an electronic and TA DAA they were Flashing like a pervert on a beach. I later removed said useless led 1157 bulb replacements
http://www.superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html
because You could only see them dead on and had no side light...But that is another story.

I guess I have an "oddball" motorcycle.

When I converted to LED turn signals, I tried using several electronic flasher units I purchased from the local auto parts stores; none of them worked. :(

However, I do recommend that motorcycle owners try these electronic units before they buy an LED-specific electronic flasher unit. The electronic flasher units available from the local auto parts store will work for many, but not all motorcycles.

After several electronic flasher units from Auto Zone failed to work properly, I purchased the LFS-1-FLAT, "motorcycle type" LED flasher unit from Super Bright LEDs; it cost $8.95.
