Tail Light Bulb

I used the search on this site and for some reason i cant find any information on what bulb to use for the tail light on my Lifan 200GY.

I brought it into o'riellys to find a replacement and i bought one, but it wouldnt fit correctly.

Does anyone know the part number for a common bulb sold locally? Or do i need to buy one off an online dealer/ebay?

Thanks,
Neal.

2 options that come to mind are to either force it, or replace the socket with one that works for the more common buld, like an 1157.

Should be a standard 1157, at least that's what my 07 Lifan GY5 is. The sockets seem to be a little tight so you may have to spray a little WD40 on it to get it locked in. Also, consider using an LED bulb so you'll probably never have to change it again.

Ok, i forget what number they gave me but when i tried to put it in it wasnt able to twist. The prongs were just a little too high and couldnt get into place.

I'll look for the 1157 and try again.

Thanks.

This might be easy. You may have the bulb 1/2 turn off. Rotate 180 degrees and try again. it will only fit in in one configuration.

That reminded me that the problem I had was the same. I took a file and removed some of the solder from the contacts on the bulb, then sprayed it with WD40. It was still tight but went in.

Hey.. I bought this LED bulb from EBAY.. It was recomneded to my by EarlW from Scootdawg.com DO NOT get one from PepBoys or any other local autoparts place.. THEY SUCK BAD!!! VERY DIM!!!!

This guy sells QUALITY bulbs that have 30 led's in an array. It is brighter than the stock bulb and uses less power too. They come with 2 bulbs.. so mabye go in with a friend.. I did not care since the price was good anyway. They come from Hong Kong.. and the shipping was fast.. and all was good. If you decide to change the turn signals.. make sure they will fit into your stalks, and you need to get the LED blinker relay too... these bulbs are a little longer than a standard 1157. Check out his store he has lots of cool lighting stuff.

Here is the link to the tail light bulb.
