First of all I'm glad you were not hurt.
No reason for second guessing anything at this point. Like you said it happens so fast. Sounds like the lady is at least responsible if not a little careless. I bet she is hyper aware of motorcyclists now. At least for a wile anyway.

Have your friends look at the bike as well. They might see something you miss. Even scratches, just cosmetic in nature, will detract the value of the bike.

Good luck! I would rather visit the dentist than deal with insurance companies.

Definitely gonna get the bike check out further. Something's bound to be screwed up. I'll keep it out of the insurance if my frame isn't bent, but it's got to be.

I'll get some pics up this evening.

Thanks again everyone!

glad to hear all is well with yourself.... people dont take driving cars as serious as they should ...... seen a deal on cell phones and texting was like many times worse reaction time than a drunk driver stopping....

looks like we can count you in on the (TransAmerican Chinariders) highway 50 tour........

Glad you are OK. Also glad you did not blow up on her.

I've ridden over 200,000 miles in the past 30 years and know a thing or two about motorcycle safety.

I keep a special eye out for minivans and soccer moms. Very frequently distracted. Watch out for morons on their cell phones while driving. I think they should be pulled from their cars and beaten. Watch out for Subarus and Volvos.

Nothing personal

Just an observation. Perhaps because there are a lot of soccer moms in Subarus makes them seem more dangerous.

I understood
I cringe everytime I see a large cadillac or lincoln...I just know they are going to pull out in front of me.

If I rode in the sunbelt, especially in the winter when the Snowbirds are out, I'd be extra wary of Caddies and Lincolns too. Sometimes 'profiling' can save your butt.

I ride like they are all out to get me!

Minivans, work trucks, station wagons.... and those tuner types in their Hondas and Mitsubishis 8O , man those guys are aggressive and unpredictable. Sudden lane changes, late braking, no turn singnals... If I see a huge wing on the back of a car I vacate the area or slow down to let them go on by.

Glad your alive, relatively unhurt I ride like everyone is trying to kill me and believe me they are. Most car drivers are dont even see us. rest up fix the bike and get back out there. fate favors the prepared. We have a double problem if the bikes dont kill us the drivers will. check both. again glad your still will us an not sucking through a straw for the rest of your life. 8O

photos enclosed

Sorry for the delay on photos, been busy riding

Bent all the plastic out of my chain, readjusted it, checked all my nuts and bolts (nuts were fine, thankfully), and got back in the saddle. Must admit I white-knuckle busy intersections now but I'm sure that will fade.

I'm with you guys on being super defensive, I'm the same way. I actually expected that to happen to me sooner than it did, people are so preoccupied in their cars it's ridiculous!

Sorry photos aren't more amazing but out of sheer luck she nailed the rear peg setup!!
