Noise uphill

On highways, the exhaust/engine noise is driving me insane. The worst is when traveling uphill; there is a different tone to it that makes my ear ring. Is this from the intake box? I've read on other forum that people add a snorkel to the intake box, in order to reduce excessive noice. Has anyone tried to engineer a snorkel box?

You've probably blow a gasket, either between the head and the pipe or between the pipe and muffler.

Usually people desnorkel the airbox to help the engine breath.

My HSUN is making my ears ring as well. It does seem louder lately. But then again when I raise my head above the top of my windshield at WOT, the wind noise drives me deaf as well.

I fix everything next year by getting a new bike.

I've been shopping for a KLR650. I wonder if those are quieter.

Hehehe.Squish it sounds like your HSUN is making you a bit upset....I cant say I disagree, its some what depressing all the constant maintenance these bikes need...but its a vehicle none the less, so I plan on driving mine into the ground.haha......I get the impression sometimes that everybody is looking at me saying WTF is he riding and why, then you get the dudes on the pricey bikes and you feel like their laughing at you.....ah who cares I say, its a 200cc Chinese enduro its made to break...good luck getting a new bike...I am digging the Suzuki enduros lately, but as long as my Hsun is getting me around I think Ill save my cash for now!

Here here.

I like to live on the edge a bit. Not doing what the crowd does. Its just the way I am. I never have really cared much for what anyone says about my choices and chinabike fit that mold. I'll run it for what it is, with my eyes wide open. When I'm done with it, I'll move on. No big deal.
But I am having a hell of a lot of fun with my first bike!

Ears ringing? I made mine louder, but it helped it to breathe. Notice my tailpipe.

I wear earplugs all the time because certain RPM's just seem like they are right inside the helmet banging my head. Some may find this dangerous, but I haven't had any problems with hearing trains or other "necessary" noises.
