Excellently documented and photographed post. I follow all I need is the black wire and the grey wire and a two prong flasher. I am just wondering if the jumper wires are necessary? Couldn't I just bare the existing black and grey wires and put on the appropriate female connector and voila 60Hz LED and Incandescent winkers as opposed to the 120 Hz LED and incandescent winkers that I have now?

Glenski
Yes, you can...but you will be more limited on where you can mount your new flasher. If it wil mount securely and safely at your existing location, then you did just saved yourself a step...In my case, I had more faith in the "under seat location" and I was able to better insulate it from the elements.

I am unsure of the significance of the frequency, because these are supposedly load balancing! As long as you connect proper series circuits for each side, then your flasher should flash a predetermined amount no matter what type of load you have on it. You would only be limited by the total resistance of your series circuit (total of all the bulbs on either left or right side).

Anyway, I would be comfortable experimenting with it, as long as you know which wire does what on both the bike and the component. Just review the pics and schematics and you should be fine...and you do have a multimeter, don't you :?: :?: :?:

We'll be throwing lightning bolts pretty soon, Brother,

Yes, that is my yard, and that is ME almost getting put in check by that rogue bolt. 8O

I did the schematic in Paint Shop Pro as a PNG. Nothing fancy, just time consuming. PM me with your e-mail and I can send it to you or you can just go in the gallery and download it.

Thanks, Mark. I took the liberty of capturing the first time and sent it to MS Office Picture Manager...That color enhancement was very helpful to these tired eyes 8O

Tonight my LED/Incandescent signal light combo is flashing away at a nice rate. It was extremely easy to do. Thanks tigertamer for figuring out what wire goes where and doing such a detailed job of presenting it. My rear LEDs still aren't as bright as I would like but I am content though. Visibility is my main concern when it comes to signal lights, but I also want them tucked out of the way for when I crash.

I will try and post some pics of my rear assembly. I will be going back out again tonight to see about my noisy dragging front brakes.

Many thanks again tigertamer!

No time soon I'm on 3web. $9.99 a month. The house, bike and dogs are more important than surf speed.

As far as Chinariderland, I should have changed that by now. I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Cananda.

As promised:

They are in nice and tight, the only issue I have with them is they are not as bright as I would have liked them to be.
