Outie555 YT channel 450MT content.

There a few moto vloggers and YT channels doing things with the 450MT Ibex now.

However I found Outie555's channel to be the more down to earth, honest bloke/average Joe experience.

He's probably a couple of months ahead of my journey with the bike so it's sort of a window into the future with mods and accessories.

Express Ali

Some bits came in...

MT450 kickstand foot.

Not a quad lock* mirror phone mount.

Not an ATLAS* throttle lock/cruise control

For the most part everything appears to work as intended.

I did have to modify the throttle lock gape for a better fit to the stock MT450 throttle grip.

Not sure if the lever bar rest alternative throttle locks might be better, but I'll see how it goes.

The phone mount also seems fine, Just depends on how dependable the adhesive pad is now.

Throttle lock/cruise control

Works by extending a friction pad when the button is pressed that hold position against the cable housing...

Comes with different pad thicknesses to accommodate different throttle setups.

I did have to grind some of the material for it to conform more to the grip when clamped.

Does hold position when the button is pressed but also looks a bit lop sided.

However it allows for throttle position adjustment, which im not sure if the alternative rest on lever types do...

See how it goes.

That's the same one I use. Works for me.

Ebay Helmet Comms

I've been riding with my phone in my jacket and wired in ear headphones using a 3.5mm jack.

As I do like listening to music when riding.

However this is not ideal.

So I was looking into helmet comms with the major players costing a pretty penny.

I jumped on Ebay and found these for 10x cheaper then the 2 main brands recommended on the internet...and figured what the heck how bad could they be...$25aud shipped

Installation on my Bell helmet was a doddle and all the wires could be tucked behind the inner foam along with the headphones.

Music test was a great...if not better than my inner ear buds. and the mic worked fine and clear.

Not sure on call quality yet.

I pressed the 'assistant' button and asked it to a destination in which it promptly launched google maps and found the correct place and route...

So as far as i'm concerned its $25 well spent.

though I found them even cheaper on Aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...11648.html?spm

Now I can also use noise cancelling earplugs to reduce wind buffeting and possibly reduce my chances of hearing loss...

I have both the v10 and v20.
Both of them sound waaaaaay too bright.
One way to make em sound better, is to use double sided Velcro between the speakers and helmet, to make the speakers come closer to the ear. This will improve bass response, so you can lower the overall volume.

The battery lasts long, however, the sound is still too harsh.
Perhaps ok for riding under 50mph, but above all you can hear is wind noise and treble, even after setting the eq to taper off the bright frequencies.

The V20 (next model) is even worse, where bright frequencies are about 4x what they need to be, compared to bass and mids.

It's understandable, as they use cheaper neodymium magnets that sound very harsh.

My friend even complained that the mic from the V20 is too sensitive, and picking up background noise.

For under $20 audiophile quality is irrelevant. whats the opposite of bright sound...dull? bass level seems fine.

Im not listening to vinyl records zoned out on a bean bag. I've got my lounge room for that

they are better than my $16 JBL earbuds, sound wise and they are decent cheap earbuds.

Right now the speakers are tucked behind thin padding in the Bell helmet where the ear pockets are. I intend to use noise cancelling earplugs at the same time. Maybe speaker position/distance to ears will become relevant for volume.

if I can hear a tune/directions or take calls then its functionally amazing for the price.

While minimizing hearing loss or permanent damage/tinnitus.

More stuff

couple of guards and the 32mm impact arrived today.

Front Caliper and ABS sender wire guard, had to make some tweaks to clear fender.

Rear brake fluid reservoir guard, installed no problem.

32mm impact worked and the Ali-express 15t sprocket also installed fine and fitment was good.

Have not ridden it yet but I am sure it will perform as intended.

How do you like the 15T sprocket change?

the 15t front sprocket should have come standard. Much better for the road. No noticeable change in power.

Gears feel like they're doing more.

I'm still breaking in the engine so limited to 4000rpm for the 1st 500km recommended.

But at 4000rpm in 6th gear is now 55mph/80kph where as before on the 14t was 50mph/75kph

From what other rider reports I've seen at 6000 rpm highway speeds are achievable 70mph/110kph on the 15t which is a drop of about 500rpm

Which is less stressful for the rider and the bike

I've ordered a 50cm clear wind shield and rubber tank pad protectors from aliexpress which if the shipping issues are resolved should be on the way.

Did my 1st fuel top up testing 91 ron (95ron recommended 11.5 compression ratio) but the ECU should adjust timing...

13.5lt went in with an indicated 310km on the trip meter, so roughly 23kpl, so about 54 US mpg on a tight engine.

Might take a ride down to the dealership and test fit a tall rally seat if they're still in stock.

Thanks for the reply. Let us know how the new windshield works out please.

Rally Seat

Took the back way to the dealership to test the the higher rally seat.

I came back with the rally seat.

at 177cm or 5'10" with my Forma EVO boots I could put both feet down almost flat.

Could still use the rear suspension drop link as a lowering option, but its much better than I had anticipated.

less knee bend and nice to be able to shift back on the seat...

Comfort wise? hard to say as I think most of my issues are personal bad posture being corrected and not the seat.

Earplugs, $4seat mesh cover and Tank protector pads

The MT rubber tank protect pads arrived and went on without a problem. There are some cheaper alternatives, but I opted for less branding and more padding.

I also got a $4 mesh seat cover which fit the rally seat fine seemed like a bargain.

and then as order filler from ali x I found 2 types of noise reduction/studio ear plugs.

I found the clear type a better fit but no major noise reduction difference between them.

Hopefully cut down the high speed helmet wind noise
