Templar X tank side cargo racks

I've been wanting to turn my X into something of a camping bike. I suppose technically I probably should have gotten an adventure bike, but I have what I have, and I quite like my bike.



I've been trying to figure out a way to fabricate some cargo racks to accommodate some fuel tanks I got. I was hoping to just mount them on the tank side panels, but they're too big and hit my knees. I was trying to come up with a way that I could make some kind of rack for either side of the fuel tank to bolt the mounts to.



I have a pair of these guys that I want to bolt to either side of the fuel tank.


I've attached a pic so you can see why mounting it on the cargo rack won't work.
