Seeing as Shineray has EPA certification, we need to pressure Powersportsmax to inquire about bringing these other models in.

The camo bike is way cool. I have been frequenting shineray's website more and more these days. I would totally love one of those 250's. One day i kept looking back and forth from ktm's website and the shineray sight and it the orange 250 looked exactly the same as one or two of the ktm bikes, but with a slightly different headlight shape. Plus i think that ktm looking bike might have a parallel twin motor, they have a parallel twin on their engines page, it's the only 250 on that page so I'm guessing they'd probably use that. I was almost thinking of holding out to see if psm starts carrying them.

Haven't recieved an email back about the db-p13 yet, i'll keep you posted.

Does anyone think having a parallel twin engine would be that much harder to maintain than a single cylinder bike???

Sorry for the late reply...

I've found my headlight to be very bright and the fender only blocks out a small area a few feet ahead of you. No adjustments were needed.

As far as a running/license plate goes, it is a fairly simple mod. There are also lighted license plate frames available starting around $10. When I get around to doing mine I will post pics.

If you get the DB-P12 Speedee you won't regret it, they are a beautiful bike that is well built.

PowersportsMax.com can be slow to respond to general questions by email, try calling until you get someone on the line. They are very helpful once you get a hold of them.

Not much more maintenance on the twin. It will be heavier with more moving parts. Possibly twin carbs which means needing to keep them synched.

The 250 pictured only has one exhuast header indicating a single.

Shin-a-ray

Shineray pronounced (shin-a-ray) is the only Chinese manufacture to sponsor a major motocross racing team. I watched FIM Motocross on VS the other night that did a short piece on rider VAN DAELE Marvin and the FIM Shineray MX Team China. The team uses Honda CRF450 racebikes. I guess their products quality isn't on par with the Japanese MX bikes yet, huh! It was a nice piece and I was impressed with the quality look of their operation.

I like the look of the camo Shineray XY200GYVII

The Shineray XY250GY uses many parts that have been directly copied from KTM.

SamM, their camo bike is supposed to use a larger gas tank, which gives us some hope for an aftermarket tank that doesn't need flimsy plastic coverings to make it look ok to look at.

The 250 is the bike that we have been anticipating--last year, but at least it gives us some hope for bigger engines to come--2 or 3 more years?! :? I hope they take the time to get that engine EPA certified!

Oh, one more thing. If you dig around the site, and read about their exhalted leader, er president of Shineray, he mentions something about their "authorization" with "Lifan..." I think the whole "where did these bikes originate from?" mystery is starting to unravel--they are mostly related as we have known, but not in a patent infringement kind of way; kind of partly answers why they have an identical 163 FML engine like Lifan.

I have a feeling that the camo bike is actually a copy of an agriculture bike, hence all the racks; these bikes are popular with ranchers who have HUGE ranches such as those found in Australia--the outer reaches are too big for quads to reach efficiently, so they employ these 200cc "ag bikes" If you go to Australia's Honda website, I think they have an "ag bike" there.

Yamaha makes AG bikes. Do a search for Yamaha Australia and you'll see what they are. The Shineray camo bike, I believe is a copy of an AG bike. Too many racks, you can never have too many. It has just the right number of racks. Waterproof pannier bags can go on the rear side racks, tool bag on the handlebar rack and a waterproof bag with clothes on the rear toprack. If they put the 250cc Suzuki engine in that bike they'd have something!

Gotta run! More later!
