COOLSTR MOUNTOPZ-125 (ATV-3125XR8-0) Starting Issues

I recently was given an ATV for free, but it had been sitting for a long time and was missing the key, so starting it is a bit of a challenge. Firstly, there are a few parts that we have no idea what their function is, or if they are required to start the engine. See the pictures below.





If you know what these are, please tell.

Secondly, I know that there are certain requirements for the starter switch to even work, such as it must be in neutral and the brake must be pressed, but I have no idea if there are any boxes that have to be checked that I am not completing.

Any advice or information is appreciated.

That is a regulator/rectifier in the first pic, and the CDI unit in the second pic.


Some quads have a tether switch on the back of the quad, designed to shut off when the tether is pulled out of the receptacle. If the tether plug is missing, the quad will not start.
