Oil level question

Ok, my question is simple so here it is. When I replaced my shipping oil with Shell Rotella T 30W I filled it until my view window was full. When the bike leans on the kick stand the window only have a little oil in it; when the bike is standing straight up the window is full, when the bike is running the oil level is just below the -L level.

Where is the proper level for each position?

Thanks,
Jay

With the bike upright and engine off so that all the oil is in the the bottom it should be somewhere in the middle of the window.

Kato is right on. It sounds like you may have a little bit too much in there. It'll probably just puke out the case vent tube. Next oil change, just put in one full quart of oil. That's all it needs.
