New coil has 2 terminals ???
I ordered a Nibbi coil that is supposed to be for a CG of many sizes, and I noticed that it has 2 terminals, but the stock one only has 1 . The stock one has one wire hooking to the terminal on the coil, and a ring terminal goes under one of the bolts. I assume that just need to use one terminal of the coil, and use the ring terminal under the bolt, but I don't know which to use. One terminal is marked with green, and I assume it may be a ground if needed, But I want to be sure, so I don't damage anything. I appreciate all advice. Thsnks
Here is what I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07TD...b_b_asin_title |

I just put my old coil back on, and requested a return of the new one. I went ahead, and ordered one of those yellow ones that are pretty common. I think the one I am returning is for an actual Honda CG bike. I did install the CDI, but I don't notice anything different.

I have that coil on my Hawk. all you need to do is remove the ring terminal for the ground wire that sits behind the coil on the frame and put a female blade terminal on it to go on the green terminal. Done.
The stock coil grounds through the coil body instead of a terminal, that is the only difference.

The ground post may actually be connected to the coil housing and mounting surface. Ohmmeter check from each connection to the body of the coil... If there's continuity, you don't even have to connect the ground post to anything. The coil will ground to the frame, just like the original coil does.
This test will also confirm which lead to connect (trigger from the CDI). Obviously, this would be the post that is not grounded!

I went ahead and, cancelled the return. I installed the new coil. The ground wire had to go to the green male spade terminal. I tried it before removing the ring terminal, by just hooking the one existing wire up, and the ring terminal around the mounting bolt, and it wouldn't fire. I ordered a yellow coil yesterday, but contemplating if I should keep it, or return it. The stock one from the TBR7 is still working, and would make a good spare, but I can only carry it on one bike, unless I could remember to carry it on the bike I choose to ride at a given time, which would be a PIA.

Fwiw, I have had the nibbi coil for 4 years-ish. Still as strong as the day I installed it.
