Noticable oil difference! Shifting/clutch related

So for years, ever since my break in oil was changed and Rotella went out of stock everywhere, I have been using 20w50 V-Twin synthetic oil. Mobil typically.

This oil change, I grabbed some 10w-40 synthetic motorcycle oil from Walmart. Walmart brand. The stuff with the motorcycle images on it that has all the good stuff for the wet clutch.

I haven't had this thing skip a gear in YEARS. Now it's doing it again.

So if you are having problems with it skipping gears, try the 20w50 V-Twin stuff. Seems to make the entire clutch/transmission perform much better.

I won't put anything else in from now on.

I use the 10W40 in my Kawasaki Z650, and the Walmart synthetic 20W50 "for v-twins" in my Suzuki C50. Originally I used the 10-40, but one time they had none on the shelf when I wanted to change oil, so I gave the 20-50 a try. All my going-into-first-gear "clunk" disappeared and shifting got much smoother. So, you are not alone...
