I've thought of that too. Not that i would do anything illegal. There are sites you can order replacement plates. Just leave out the evil words Off-Highway.

It needs to be more professional. At least mask off and spray paint.

But seriously we do have a member on here that had a problem registering his hawk because it didn't have the NHTSA plate. He had one printed up with the information needed and stuck it on. He was able to get it plated. It will need all the information like this sample.

I am not gonna do anything illegal, I am going to figure out how to get them registered...it shouldn't be this big of a deal. BUT I do understand if the tires/rims/gas tank are not DOT approved, like in the post I found about the NHTSA testing some Chinese bikes and their equipment failing. Probably not a good idea for street use. If I can prove everything is in spec then they need to inspect it and add it to the database, and approve the registration.
Nope! The tires have DOT approved in relief, the crate has DOT approved markings on it. It is official NHTSA that is missing, because of the insane regulatory hoops. But that doesn't mean that they are "faulty". Just selective markets based on a business model. My guess is that they are working on it. Legal $tuff
