Has anyone had to replace the front axle on a hawk 250?

My hawk 250 just arrived yesterday and the nut that holds the front tire on was missing on arrival. I don't wanna wait two weeks for CS to ship a new one. Does anyone know what the thread size is? I went and picked up like 10 different nuts, several are very close but only thread on once and no more, so assuming just barely wrong size.

Does anyone know the exact thread size and/or where to pick up a new one? If not I guess I can just take the tire back off tomorrow and take the axle bolt with me to find a replacement. Just wanted to avoid that as taking the tire on/off solo with no bike jack is a PITA.

if, by chance, you have a Fastenall shop near you, take the axle and ask them to match up a nut. you might also do the same at any hardware store. or even stop by a bike shop and see if they have some old bolts laying around which will fit it.

Look over the threads on the axle and make sure there isn't damage. It's not some unusual size so it shouldn't be this hard to find one.

If you have a detailed ruler you can approximate the threads/pitch, I assume these are probably in metric like mine. If you've been through a pile of various sizes, I'm sure you're REALLY close to finding the right one. Unless of course the threads are damaged like MegaDan mentioned.

Might be better off going to a Lowes or HomeDepot with the axle, and get help with getting a proper one. Good news, when I replace parts on my bikes, I often get better metal from hardware store than OEM version.
