Meh
Well currently I’m tryna get a 250cc engine in a 50cc chassis. But I’m having clearance issues and wiring issues to the blinkers, brakes and other misc issues getting the head to go back together

Re:
I do have a few pictures but the bike is a 2002 Derbi gpr 50. And i know as crazy as it sounds I wanna see my little monster come to life. Just been hella frustrating getting the wiring right and finding a fabrication shop willing to make custom parts and such.
I attached some pics of a similar bike and the angle of pipe I’m needing for the engine. It’s not my bike BUT it’s the cleanest pics of how the frame looks. Mines is only slightly modified (I cut some frame) |

Ahhh. Going from 2 stroke to 4 stroke. From what I found, it seems like the 250 is taller, and possible wider at the head. What all have you done so far, and what engine are you using? Also, are you happy with losing a gear? I don't know too many 6 speed Chinese 250s.

Aside from the 172FMM-3 or the RE250 engine, both of which are a tad pricey and somewhat difficult to get your hands on as just an engine, there really aren't that many 6 speeds out there. Both would be worth it if you had to have a 6th gear. The RE250 for basically being a CRF230 engine with a gear driven counter balancer, so lots of aftermarket to bump the power and it is decently smooth. The 172FMM-3 for being an actual 249cc engine and making decent power out of the box - 19 to 21hp depending on who you ask lol.

So far all I’ve done was rip her apart I cut a small piece of support bar so the head would clear. Other than that I havnt done much I’ve be trying to find someone who can make me some pipes so I’ll have space to mount is without cutting more of the frame since the oil part and the clutch/strator hit the frame.
So I came here to learn haha. The engine I’m using is a shineray/zongshen 250cc 167mm I think if I remember correctly. It’s an air cooled 5 speed that I paid bout 750 for brand new. And the gearing doesn’t bother me. The little 50cc engine only pulled around 30 goin down hill so I wanted more power |
