New guy from Iowa

Old enough to most of you're grandfather, still riding. Looking for a reliable dealer to order from. No BS dealer. Thanks for putting up with me.

Welcome.

If you're old enough to be my grandfather, you would be about 110+. ;-)

Where abouts in Iowa are you? And what brand are you looking for?

I'm in Omaha so I keep an eye on China bike dealers in the area. There's an Apollo dealer now in Iowa City, and an SSR dealer in Atlantic.

Obviously, there are plenty of online dealers as well. Bemonte, Venom, and Orion get good reviews here. I got my Apollo from Orion and was happy with the transaction, but if I was doing it again, I would seriously consider the dealer in Iowa City.

Near Des Moines, seems like most dealers are way out of line but I will check the Iowa City one, and thanks.

Hi ! Do you know Cole the Cornstar ? He makes corn and beans in Iowa .
Generally beware of Texas dealers ,a large amount of them are run by a total scumbag ,what bike or type of bike are you looking for ?

The dealer in Iowa City looks promising. Here's the Apollo db-36 from them, fully assembled:

Here's the same bike fully assembled from Orion Power Sports:

https://www.orionpowersports.com/apo...embled-tested/

As you can see, the Iowa City bike is $160 less. However, there could be additional costs (e.g., setup fees) that are not listed.

However, for me, even if the Iowa City dealer was a couple of hundred dollars more, I might still go with it. I could pick it up in a day as opposed to the week I waited for my Orion Apollo to be delivered.

The delivery company wasn't great-- I got a notice that they were coming on a Thursday, so I took the day off work to sign for it. It didn't show. The next morning, they sent a notice that it was running late and would be delivered that day. It did show up, but I wasn't happy about the no-show the day before.

So, delivery wasn't great but it wasn't a disaster, either. However, I think I'd rather just drive to Iowa City to pick it up myself if I were to get another one.

If you check out the Iowa City dealer, please report back as to what they're like and if there are fees that aren't reflected in their pricing.

You can't be too old, cause you know how to use a computer. ( I'm sure your wife isn't helping you find motorcycle forums. )

Welcome aboard.

Bought my first computer in 1979, TRS-80 and started putting them together in 1982 IBM clones. Very techy and have owned and built CNC machines.. HVAC/R and electrician before that.

Just about ready to get the CC out and order the Kymoto Magician 250 from MotoBuys Or Q9 both a advertiser here... hope they are good venders. Went with the Magician because of the low seat height.
