Where to get gasket sets?
After googling 'cg 229 gasket set', I get alot of cg 125's and one cg 200-250 from Amazon--OUT OF STOCK--so does anyone know where to find the gasket sets?
I only need the side case gasket, as I'm planning on installing the 4 degree advance key. |

If you're careful you wont need another gasket changing that key.

Yeah, they say "cg 250", but a closer look at the gaskets and they don't appear to match a cg 229. There seems to be plenty of vertical CG 150's...is that compatible?

You would think that this is an easy to find product since 90% of US imported China-bikes use this engine. AARRGG!

I will be the guinea-pig and since it was only $8~ on Ebay I ordered this:

a CG229 is a CG250 by all merits. Some gaskets are interchangable as the whole engine line up is based from the original Honda CG125...But there are some differences.
I purchased a generic CG250 kit and so far everything seems to fit. The head gasket was actually more of a 69mm than the 67mm. Side cover gaskets worked for me when I changed the stator side So i assume the clutch side will be fine. The red rocker cover gaskets for CG125s are undersized for Zongshen CG250 Rocker Covers Ive discovered. |
