Lift or Stand

I would like to know what people are using for a lift or stand. Does the trusty milk crate work? I made a box out of wood. I have seen some lifts on Dennis Kirk, but they are expensive.

I would recommend a lift or a stand, they just don't make milk crates the way they used to and they are too short to support these once you have the wheels on... I had to put wood blocks on my milk crate to get the bike up and then the crate gave and bent, almost dropping the bike... Stick with steel lifts, they sell them at wal-mart for around 50 bucks...

Harbor freight tools sells one pretty cheap. I have 2, one in the garage and one in the basement. The pump jack is cheap tho and it failed. I got a $10 pump jack to fix it though.

if you're clearance is low enough and you don't want to dump 30 to 50 bones on a stand, you could try a 5 gallon paint bucket -- they seem to hold up pretty well.

Why not use tie straps from the bike to the rafters?

I do have one of each. I love the lift table, buts thats becuse i'm to old and fat to get down to the floor. no for real I think the Harbor Freight motorcycle jack for $63.00 is the best all around becuse takes the wheels off the ground, the lift table dos not.
love from the big island

Walmart has a Goodwrench atv motorcycle jack for around $50, With casters and straps and no shipping costs. It was alot less stressful than the milk crate I used to use. I now can use the milk crate to sit on while I work on the bike>
