No damping in rear shock. HELP

I noticed on my way to work today, that my rear shock is feeling very springy. There is no damping any more. Everytime I hit a bump the back tire bounces. I looked and I can't see any leakage or other obvious damage.

Does anyone know how to fix this or do I need to replace it. If I need to replace it where do I get one? My bike it a 2006 Hi Bird 200GY. Please Help!!

I would pull the rear shock and service the suspension linkage with caution. I fount the same symptom with my Xmoto/Jetmoto and found a sheared shock shaft. Dealer supplied me a replacement. No damagewas evident until the rear linkage was out.

When I had the problem you describe, I found that the rod in the shock had come unscrewed. Had to take the shock apart to put it back together, but nothing was broken.

Well...I took it apart last night and didn't find anything wrong or loose. It was all tight and the shock unit itself seemed like it was in perfect shape. After I put it all back together I jumped up and down on it and it was working again. After about 5 jumps it started being springy again. Does anyone have any explanations about that?

I think that I may just need to replace it because there is no way to get into it to rebuild it. Now the problem is, where do I get one...

problem is inside the core then
