Here’s the thing about you replacing your VFR, Dan… Do you think you’ll be able to find one in that really unique metallic orange color that you already have? |

That orange isn't a factory color anyway, so yeah. Plus, the only thing painted on the CB650R is the tank lol.

So changing the sprocket, better exhaust, better / re jet the carb seem like the basic upgrades. None of which appear to be terribly expensive. |

I am looking at both the DLX and carb 250 and cant decide The DLX states that its 250cc but I cant find any info on bore and stroke. I also see that the carb Hawk is a 229cc. is that true?

Will the bearings discussed in this video:
(Megadan's?) for the wheels & steering stem be identical for the DLX EFI Hawk? My DLX hasn't arrived yet, but I'd like to order the bearings early. Tnx!

Watch your back, someone in PA was complaining about L on the DMV roster. The 3 digits VIN starts with LC4 ( I am currently screwed by the dealer) |

I'm in the same boat as OP trying to decide which one to go with. The only difference is that I'm at 5600ft and would do some riding about an hour away in one direction at 2500ft and an hour away in the opposite direction at 9000ft. So I think the DLX might be the best choice for me because I really don't want to mess with jetting a lot.

Even with my limited experience with the Hawk EFI (94.4 miles!), I would run, not walk away from the carb version.

I sure would love to know why ? There’s probably a few hundred reg hawks in members hands and very few legitimate issues but every one has a solution .If you can title it there is nothing to be afraid of .The deluxe probably has electrical issues coming with no current work around ,the fixes will come ,but the guinea pigs will have to figure them out .
