sudden loss of throttle response from idle
this problem popped up overnight a few days ago. I rode the recon Wednesday night less than a mile and everything was good, I took off work Thursday to ride and found that sudden throttle from idle would cause the engine to bog down to the point it would die. It runs fine at riding rpm's and isn't a problem but sitting in neutral any sudden throttle has the bogging effect.
what is my most likely problem? Thanks guy's. |

He is right, it could very well be that the choke got turned on by accident or with a sharp bump.
Otherwise, since you are still breaking in the bike the valves may need re-adjusting. My valves got tight on my hawk after just 200 miles and I had to set the lash again. As the rings seat and compression increases the state of tune of the carb may also need to be tweaked a bit.

Hey Fellas, I did try to kick start it that morning with it choked but was sure I put it back to normal but I bet I didn't. Heading out now to do some tightening and adjusting and bleed the rear brake, I will check the choke before I get to far.
Thank you both very much for the input. |

well it wasn't the choke and since it only occurs at low rpm would I be on track to start looking at air? I was hesitant to start tearing it apart because we are still getting spotty rain and my shop looks like the four trax exploded, parts and pieces everywhere. I did find my rear brake issue was mostly a pinched hose, possibly from the crash. the front fender rattle turned out to be one of the fasteners in the bracket is sheared, again possibly from the crash. I readjusted the chain as well.

Believe me, my work space is a constant juggling act between bikes, tools, lawn equipment, etc. It is a never ending cycle of moving and re-organizing just so I can have a good work space.

Hello all, I adjusted the valves and changed the oil this morning and just bumping the starter she started right up but the hesitation is still there. I came in and changed clothes to take her out for a run and while I was getting ready Jeff from Peace called to verify some parts he was getting ready to send out so I told him about the problem and what I had done and he suggested that I re-jet the carb. I did a search and found some info but I am wondering if anyone with the newer model brozz bikes has tried this kit-
