I'm not exactly sure abouit the size but our TT250 had a huge snap ring on the sprocket. I used something similar to these to remove it.

Regarding the ring itself, maybe someone else can chime in on part number or generic size. The one on there shouldn't be easily damaged if removed with the proper tool.

If you want to make your life easy. https://www.amazon.com/SPEEDWOX-Exte...07C4T9HWP?th=1

Snap Ring for the TT250 is 95 cents each through CSC (plus 7 bucks to ship lol). https://store.cscmotorcycles.com/TT2...p/zt24-100.htm

OR if you want to go find your own online at websites like MSC, Grainger, heck even Amazon. Search for an External Snap Ring with these specs. Diameter: 2 1/4" thickness: .078"

It takes a pretty stout pair of snap ring pliers to get that off there. I just use 2 flathead screwdrivers, one big and one small and just walk it around. Takes all of 20 seconds.

The ones I linked above are pretty much the same as the ones I use. They handle it with ease.

CSC TT250 Sprocket installation tutorial

CSC says the circlip is not necessary. Maybe it is for a Hawk?

"Once the rear wheel is removed, remove the large Circlip on the wheel hub… We’ve had people ask about Circlip on the hub with the new sprocket. Hey, that Circlip doesn’t do anything once the bike is assembled…it’s just along for the ride. It has no operational function. As nearly as we can guess, it’s an assembly aid when the motorcycle is manufactured. Leave it off. Like my friends in New Jersey say, fuhhgeddaboutit."

That's because the CSC tt250 sprocket bolts directly to the hub so th clip is not needed.
