request an EPA certification?

Due to the problem of "gray bikes" registrations, seems to be a problem in CT right now, should a prospective buyer be requesting a copy of that perticular brands (Lifan,Gallatta,Roketa,Rakatak)EPA certificate from the seller before buying from them.Maybe bruce or one of the other dealers can let us know if they are provided these from thier suppliers. Can these certificates be verified. With a computer,a little software, printer and a few minutes you can have very legal looking document's that can fool you unless you can verify them.If it's possible i think it would cut out most of the problems with registrations and shutdown the shady sellers causing a lot of the bad rep of china bikes. The reason i bought an Am.Lifan instead of one of the Ebay bikes for a lot less was that i knew i could registure it for legal street use.

Darnit, posted in the wrong place, can one of the "chuckies" please move it to registrations or where ever you think is the correct place.

When I bought my bike from a b&m store,

"Provided that this bike can be registered for street use, plated and insured in Ontario."

Was written on the bill by the seller. I don't know if it would hold up in court, but I felt a lot better. N2r.

Some of these companies proudly display their EPA certs on their websites if you search around.
