Scooter won’t start after being left in rain
Accidentally left my scooter out in the rain and now won’t start. I’ve drained carb and gas tank and replaced the spark plug but still no luck. It just cranks and cranks. Where should I go next?

Check that you didn't accidently hit the kill switch. Kill switch my still have water in it and is grounding out. If you have a leaf blower try blowing out everything to help dry it up.

Did some testing of the killswitch and still no luck. Wondering if it somehow damaged the cdi?
It’s a 2006(ish) Sunl 50cc standard gy6 with electronic choke |

I stressed over a similar scooter for an entire day. The premise was that my buddy laid it down while making a left at an intersection and it wouldn't start after that. I checked and double-checked every device and system on the scooter, before realizing it was just in need of a valve adjustment. Can't figure out why the valves picked that moment to present themselves, but they did. I have a thread on it if you're interested.
All of this assumes you have spark.

Ok, verified that i do in fact have spark. However, the plug does not smell strongly of fuel. The peculiar thing, though, is that the bike will not fire even with a shot of ether. Perhaps I’m wrong in assuming it would?

Weld, I would take that thread link if you have it handy. I adjusted the valves on this scooter about 4 months (maybe 25 miles) ago. I can check them again

The pics are fuzzy, thanks to PB holding them hostage. Here you go, Brian: http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=9421
