The DLX saga !!!
Well I bought my Hawk DLX about 2 months ago and just yesterday I got it licensed !!!...
The dealer I bought it from didn’t send the MCO with the bike ( which may or may not be standard procedure?).I waited about about 1 week to request my MCO and then it took about 2-3 weeks for the dealer to get it to me. After I received it I took it to the DOL and was told I needed a Odometer discloser statement filled out by the dealer, even though there was one filled out on the back of the MCO !!. I got the form, had the DOL highlight which parts the dealer needed to fill out and mailed it off to Texas. It took about a week or so to get it back from from Texas and took it once again to the DOL.To my surprise the DOL knew exactly what to do with it and then the fun started. She could not find the brand in the database so she had to call the state capital and after about 10 minutes she turned her computer screen around to me and said” pick all the categories that fit your vehicle”.So I picked motorcycle, dualsport and she clicked OK and now it’s a official brand in the Washington state vehicle database!!. So then she handed me the bill,$350 to license a $1,985 motorcycle!!!!..... So I only have 9 miles on the bike and now I finally have it legal to ride !!.. |

Wow! quite the ordeal..... My Hawk DLX license went very quick and simple (Illinois). Only have 200 miles on it so far - love the bike and it has been all fun.

$350? I though my county was bad about tax, license, and title fees on a new vehicle. That is just asinine.

It was about $190 here in Ohio and no fuss whatsoever.
