My Jialing Brazilian off road/Hawk has 17/19 wheels and that traveled all over China by first owner and I bought it at 24500km and then rode from Kunming back to Chengdu
Ignore wheel sizes I say!

I have super motard 17” front and rear from the factory on my KLX. I put some dual sport type Shinko’s on it and it rides like a dream. Off road, on road; anywhere. It actually has a wider tread pattern than other wheels, more like the TW200 that was mentioned.

Wheel diameter is a personal preference. Is a 21/18 setup needed? No. The steering and directional stability of the larger wheel in uneven terrain is nice to have when you venture beyond a dirt road.

This bike is interesting. Really would like to see what happens with this one as it seems like a good alternative.

Apollos have been around for years and have proven themselves (as far as them being Chinese is concerned). It is interesting that the US importer decided to bring in street versions of them. It is like these are from a 'different angle'. I mean, the majority of Chinese enduros are just that--this bike is a dirt bike converted to street. I like the idea of the fat tires; kind of like a poor man's XF250.

I've actually known about the Apollos. They are the whole reason why I found out about the China bike enduros. One day when I was trying to find something off of Amazon for a different bike, then I just saw a listing for one of them on there. Never knew you could buy them on there. Shortly afterwards I found about the Hawks and then I came here.

Cleaning out space for this right now, only problem is how to get the money for one? This is what I have been waiting for, zong engine, supermoto and that price! And you can get a 21/18 wheel set for $190 per wheel right from orion. Maybe have to buy the brake caliper brackets also but for around $400 more you get a supermoto and dual sport. Checked every review on youtube I could find for the dirt version and everyone has nothing but good things to say. Is it just me or does it seem like our "crappy, junky, always broken" chinese specials are giving the consumer more of what they want? Would like to see the speedo but only basic pictures up so far. Someone needs to buy one and post some more detailed pics! You pull the trigger hancadam?

I have not. Still haven't made up my mind. But I'll be ordering this or the "new" brozz this week.

With the brozz and Apollo I like the Zong engines, the far better swing arms, the better suspension, etc. This will be my 4th China bike, so know well what I am getting into. Seems like both of these options are a considerable "upgrade" to the hawk, but obviously at a price point difference. Thanks for the info guys, I'll be ordering one in the coming days. Will post with what I decide on.
What do you mean by far better swingarm? What's different about these swing arms versus the horse hawk clones?
What is the improvement in suspension?

I'm just curious because I haven't seen any real details talking about the swing arms or the suspension.

More than just the thin box metal. Better chain adjusters. Inverted forks in the front.

I always hated the chain adjusters on my other bikes, especially my hawk.

The Brozz is a very tempting alternative, as well as the BMS bike (which is a Bashan who OEM the bike for BMS). I am fairly certain I will be moving back to AZ in late spring, so I am doing some mental shopping without the constraints of my choices being limited by California's CARB certification/rules. The Apollo has been added to my ever growing list thanks to this thread!

Thanks. I have never seen the swingarm of a hawk in person so i did not know how they were constructed.
Good to see improvements. Lets hope it is something they improve on the Hawk DFI.

I was wondering that. CARB Approved doesn't necessarily mean "streetable".

Make sure you get the apollo db 36 deluxe

Get the Apollo 250 Deluxe! I happened to get it before they raised the price up, but if you wait the holidays, black friday, etc. they have sale's. It's a 2019 model made 07/19. Was fresh off boat in first real batch sent to the USA. Came no damages . When you buy one of these street legal bikes, make sure you request your MCO or fill the website's MCO form out. Theres usually a link on their website's starting MCO Request from. I learned hard way... Get rid of handle bars and do yourself a favor and get yourself a set of Pro Taper 7/8 handlebars (cr high bend). I got the platinum color on my black bike plastics. Goes together very nicely... I got pair of serpentine mirrors off ebay for literally 12.00 USD. Get yourself a rear shock cover from Aliexpress.com. By the way Aliexpress app or site has a lot of part's for these CB 250 Zongshen engines. Apollo db 36 deluxe comes with a CB250engine. CB's have Overhead cam. The Hawks have the CG 250 engine. They are really 223cc. Everything from front sprocket covers and even exact stock replacement cover. They got whole air cooled engine gasket sets, pistons Kits etc.. I changed out my carb to a different PZ 30 carb and did away with choke at control and cable. I actually have a few you tube videos on YouTube. One is a walk around on my 2019 Apollo deluxe. I also have an apollo dbx 18 125. I did a lot to that. Like buy an extra set of stock tires and replaced them with irc heavy duty tubes and Michelin city grip street tires, basically made the dbx 18 street legal from scratch.
but if your interested I have a video and description of what I did to both. Just search YouTube for "all in one apollo db 36 250 walk around" the other video is " all in one changes I've made to apollo rfz 18" And few more if your able to find them. They both been great running bikes. I highly maintain and keep my things clean. I wired up headlights, taillights with pressure banjo bolts and all for working brake light on the rfz 18. Good learning bikes for people to start on also. The deluxe is one of the better looking 250 chinese bikes, in my opinion. Especially when you change them handle bars & those mirrors. I put a 16 tooth on front of deluxe and in motion of trying to find a 35 tooth 520 rear sprocket. Having hell of time finding one. Just gonna have one custom made from rebelsprockets.com. only aluminum they make. I would not use the potentionly leaky battery they give you with bike. Please do yourself another big favor and go on ebay and buy the Zipp sealed 12 volt 5.7 amp battery . For 19.99. Or you can get 2 of mighty max 12volt 5 amp for 23.99 ebay. Preferably The Zipp battery.. trust... I did a lot of research on this type of stuff so. This picture was before I cleaned off spring, screen and magnet. I put a little bigger than a dime sized neodymium cheerios shaped magnet snuggly inside screen and it turned the screen and actual spring into slightly magnetic that attracted a surprised amount of metal shavings. It collected so much shavings, big time. I'll upload another photo of what it left on sheet. This was only 105 miles since previous oil change. 252-357 miles. I changed 3 other times before this. Maybe slight overkill Slight. Make sure ya check out the Apollo's. You'll be wanting one. Hopefully all goes well for ya folks. Have a good one ....
