the shiney stuff is there because chicks dig chrome.

the wires are a kinda heatshield...probably

Wires are heat-shield. Fairly common on many bikes. Old Honda's such at the Trail-XX series bikes had them as well as many of the early enduro's.

The strap and bolts that are used to hold the shiny stuff and the "heat shield" might rub against the tire. I think I'm taking them off permanently.

The beauty of these bikes is if you don't like something get rid of it, it's not a $4/5 grand bike, mod it the way you want...
