Well its in and running. Video link above. I think there is an issue though. Maybe you can help me confirm it for now. Im waiting on a new rear sprocket and chain because this engine requires the use of a 520 sprocket and chain. The shaft keyway is slightly larger. Anyway, I think the clutch might not be working. When i pull in the clutch the engine sprocket continues to turn, even if I try and stop it with my foot. Also the clutch handlebar lever feels too easy to pull compared to the hawk. Obviously without the chain connected I cant say for sure but I think it may be not working. I disconnected the cable and am manually moving the clutch lever on the case and same result. I have no idea what clutch is in this thing and have no idea where to start. If anyone has any advice Id appreciate it.

On my Apollo Rx250, if I let the bike sit for a week or two the clutch plates stick. Even when the the clutch is pulled the tire wont spin. What I have to do is hold the clutch lever, then physically spin the wheel/tire untli it lets go. Then it works like it should. It does take quite a bit of force to break it loose. Good job with the engine conversion. Glad to see you got it fired up, and it seems to be running very good.

sounds good. I think it will be okay. Clutch plates are probably just dragging and need to wear in place.

That is awesome!! Congratulations and great job. I agree with others, clutch plates are probably just stuck. I think you will be ok.

Are you planning on gutting the cat or a free flowing exhaust?

Well unfortunately after getting the new sprocket and chain on and trying to break it free, the clutch is still stuck "off" or engaged however you want to say it so I guess Im going to have to drain my brand new oil and remove the side cover tomorrow and see whats going on. Hopefully nothing major. 🤬

Just put it on its side, you don't have to drain all of the oil out!

Here is the clutch. Anyone know what kind it is? Im looking for torque specs on the pressure plate bolts. I know nothing about motorcycle clutches. Nothing obviously wrong to me. I was able to free up the plates. Requires a special tool? I do Not have to remove the clutch. I think its like a Honda.

move the clutch lever and see if the plates release, maybe they forgot the pushrod.

Looks like everything is there. You have a picture of the inside the cover? Like to see if everything is in place on the clutch lever.

Pressure plate bolt should be 9 lbf·ft. Tighten the lifter plate bolts in a crisscross pattern
in several steps.

I made sure the discs werent seized, oiled everything and I put it all back together and it still doesnt work. Something is wrong with the whole thing. The lever just doesnt feel right. Im getting very frustrated. I even took apart the Hawk CG engine to compare and everything looks the same. The Hawk has a better 7 plate clutch stock though vs the 6 disc in the loncin. Ill try to get another pic of the case when i take it apart again.......

So when you start the bike it just tries to take off when you put it in gear?
