Hawk 250 Electrical gremlins

My hawk seems to have died on me. When I turn the key, I get nothing. No lights, my digital dash won't turn on, nothing. Here's what I've tried so far:
*charging the battery -not the problem
* checking the connections -noticed the pink wire at the connection under the gas tank had burned. Replaced it, no change
*checked fuses- not the problem
-checking the ground - nope
*praying - didnt help
*selling my soul to satan - also didn't help.
Sometimes wigging connectors gives me a flickering light on my dash. Ive checked every single one and didnt find a problem.
What's wrong with my bike?!

Check for a broken wire or pin, or a pin that maybe got pushed back out, inside one of the connectors. My last Hawk did this to me randomly one day and I ended up finding the red wire at the ignition switch broken at the pin inside the connector on the chassis side of the harness. The connectors these bikes come with are pretty cheaptastic.

Red wire in loom near regulator broken
Strip loom a bit near steering area.

Unplug ignition barrel connect red to black see if bike turns on, this takes out the ignition switch and would show if or not it’s the ignition switch or wiring issue

The same thing happened with my brand new TBR7 I’m not sure the wiring is the same color. Mine was a brown wire that came out of a harness. Under the seat next to the air box. If I can figure out how to post a pic. I will.Name: 2060E784-E49F-4522-8F62-1363ADC52E1D.jpg

Reconnect the 8 pin connector and start the bike. Here are the diagrams to help you:

Correction, 6 pin. Connecting the black wire causes it to shut off.

6 pin is gear indicator plug... Maybe you have a kickstand position sensor being faulty... Black wire is Ign+ 12 volt use a multi-meter see if it's grounded maybe.

Black wire is Ignition +
So you have the stock speedo? if connected no go? only go with dash off?
So maybe black is leaking to another something?

Also try this plz:
Unplug ignition barrel 4 pin plug so NO power from battery and kick start it, this should make the bike run but no lights or electrcal to work - what is the result?

So what you are saying connect the dash BUT without black wire the bike runs? all works?
At the dash the black wire runs the fuel gauge and + for neutral light.

I have the digital dash. If i disconnect the black wire from the connector everything works except for the electric start. It runs fine otherwise.

I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance. As I'm sure you can tell by my post times, I work nights. It is your dash. No problems on the dash side of the harness. Confirmed by using another dash with same problems more details:
  1. Bike can be kicked/bump started
  2. Dash display comes on while kicking, dies as soon as motion stops
  3. Bike dies in netrual, runs in gear with clutch pulled in
  4. As previously stated, electric start does not function

6 pin being the gear ind LED part? Hawk needs the extra llom and there will not be a black wire at the extra loom - the black from the gear LED ind on bross style loops back upto the black wire at the gas gauge connection - Pics and more details so I can work out what version n what might be the issue etc.

If gear in side - disconnect at the engine area?
Or if Bross style I did/do have another with a minor nuisance as the internal LCD board pins just touch the base of the gas gauge motor and screws need to be loosened and LCD rotated to clear internally.
If my unit please send a message via how we contacted etc as I am lost as to who I sold a Hawk set too and what version it is etc.

Its a tt style. Im in Georgia. Dash works fine, just don't want to have to kick the darn thing every time. I dont think its the gear indicator connector. Is there another 6 pin connector?
